**Basic Pistol I and Defensive Pistol I Courses qualify you for your concealed carry license in the state of Colorado**

Basic Pistol I

Course Information

  • 8-hours with full registration (Details will be communicated with Students)

  • No prerequisites

Course Requirements

  • Pistol (rentals available)

  • 100 rounds of ammo (approx.)

Course Objectives

  • Familiarize students with the basics of firearm safety

  • Familiarize students with the basics of pistol mechanisms/actions

    • Single action

    • Double action

    • SA/DA

    • Semi-Auto

  • Familiarize students with proper grip and shooting stances

  • Familiarize students with proper range commands and activity

  • Familiarize students with their pistol on the range and allow live fire

  • Familiarize students with proper maintenance, cleaning, and safe storage of their pistol

Basic Pistol II - Shooting With Confidence

Course Information

  • 4-hours (approx.) 

Course Requirements

  • Pistol (rentals available)

  • 150 rounds of ammo (approx.)

  • Must be able to safely demonstrate the objectives from Basic Pistol I

Course Objectives

  • Build on the fundamentals of Basic Pistol I

  • Improve/fix bad habits that have been built

  • Give students tools to self-address common issues

  • Shoot, shoot, and more shooting

Defensive Pistol I* - All-Encompassing Concealed Carry Course

Course Information

  • 8-hours with full registration (Details will be communicated with Students)

Course Requirements

  • Pistol (rentals available)

  • Adequate holster (rentals available)

  • At least 2 magazines

  • 150 rounds of ammo (approx.)

  • Must be able to safely demonstrate the objectives from Basic Pistol I

Course Objectives

  • Familiarize students with the concepts and ideal of carrying a firearm for defense

  • Familiarize students with the basic legal principles of carrying a firearm

  • Familiarize students with the application process for a Conceal Carry License

  • Familiarize students with what to do should a firearm ever be used defensively

  • Teach students the foundation for drawing a firearm

  • Teach students the fundamentals of moving while shooting

  • Teach students the fundamentals of reloading while in the course of fire

  • Teach students how to identify, address, and resolve common malfunctions

*Approved for Utah Non-Resident Concealed Firearm Permit​

Defensive Pistol II - Confidence with your Concealed Pistol

Course Information

  • 5-hours (approx.) 

Course Requirements

  • Pistol (rentals available)

  • Adequate holster (rentals available)

  • At least 2 magazines

  • 150 rounds of ammo (approx.)

  • Must be able to safely demonstrate the objectives from Defensive Pistol I

  • Drawing and shooting under pressure

  • Moving and shooting while under pressure

  • Fixing malfunctions while under pressure

  • Room clearing techniques

  • Engaging multiple targets

  • Beating the “21-foot Rule”

    • Red Dot Optics

    • Maintenance and cleaning

  • Familiarize students with proper grips and shooting stances

  • Sight in/Zeroing 

  • Sight acquisition drills

  • Basic Movement Drills

Tactical Rifle - Using your Rifle in a defensive situation

Course Information

  • 5-hours (approx.) 

Course Requirements

  • Rifle (rentals available)

  • At least two magazines

  • Rifle Sling

  • Magazine Pouch/Retention Device

  • 200 rounds of ammo (approx.)

  • Semi-Auto Pistol (sidearm)

  • 50 round of Pistol Ammo

  • At least two Pistol Magazines

  • Pistol Magazine Retenion Device

  • Completion or safe demonstration of concepts in Basic Rifle I

  • Completion of a Defensive Pistol course or the understanding of the law surrounding defensive firearm use

Course Objectives

  • Firing a rifle under pressure

  • Moving and shooting a rifle under pressure

  • Room clearing with a rifle

  • Clearing of common rifle malfunctions

  • Use of Cover and Concealment with a rifle
